GAME INTRODUCTION

Dicero is a free-to-play roguelite RPG where dice rolls are at the core of gameplay, developed by hit mobile game Archero creator Habby. Set to launch on iOS and Android, the game blends high-octane third person action with dice based skill activation for a gameplay experience where strategy meets chance.

The innovative dice system is at the core of what Dicero brings to you. Players roll dice to discover just how much power their abilities will have before unleashing them, injecting a serious dose of randomness into almost every encounter. Which means that even the most meticulous strategies can be boosted or ruined by a lucky roll of the dice, which forces players to improvise. Constant dice-rolling for each and every basic attack may seem unwieldy, however Habby seems to be using the mechanic as little more than a special abilities power-up—pump up that die roll rather than relegate all combat into an annoying random system.

As befits the roguelite formula each run in Dicero is different with randomized outcomes. Hundreds of skills and gear pieces that can be unlocked allow players to create character builds customized for their playstyle. Skill attachments, combo multipliers with dice rolls and re-roll mechanics emphasize build diversity in a game whose approachable controls hide a deep well of strategic experimentation. From glass cannon setups that are all risk and reward to more balanced defensive builds, the wide array of customization ensures you never do two runs alike.

The graphics use clean, high fidelity pixel art which is somewhere between retro and modern. The third person view mixed with some flashy combat effects gives the game a very arcadey feel visually and is extremely fluid on mobile not stuttering or lagging in any way. The game is largely designed to be simple and accessible which makes it an ideal entry point for casuals but still contains more than enough depth to keep hardcore roguelite players engaged.

Alongside the main campaign in Dicero, you also get several different types of combat events to throw into play and mix things up a little so as not everything is always just about killing others. If you want to earn rewards and test various equipment combinations, then the Weapon Trial event & Pet Rush are more ways that help you do just that. The game also has redeem codes running for free rewards as well and an official Habby Store giving additional value on purchases over the in-game store, providing avid players with more avenues to engage within the community while making progress.

Dicero embraces RNG as its structural essence of gameplay through the dice mechanics instead of relegating randomness to a semi-familiar background aspect like many other mobile roguelites. While its over-reliance on chance may turn-off pure skill-based combat enthusiasts, the high replayability rate, large variety of builds and reasonably clean presentation make it a great addition to Habby's library. If you love action RPGs and the idea of discovering new ways to play on each run — Dicero fuses luck with chance in a way that keeps things fresh every single time.
